Homemade pizzas started off the evening; John made the crust from a recipe in the cookbook he got for Christmas from the McKittricks. Then as the snow started, we finished off the year at our friend Donna's house. The weather was so bad, we were only able to make it to the one party. But it was a good time - Thanks Donna!

After another wind storm Christmas Eve night, we awoke to blue skies and warm weather (about 10 degrees!). We started the morning off with fresh cinnamon buns and opening our gifts. Despite only being two of us in the house, there were many gifts to open ~ thank you to everyone for your generous gifts! We then headed out for a 40-minute walk, it was fantastic to be out in the sun. We came back to the house and watched some movies, had a nap, and then got Christmas dinner underway. Barbecued goodies for us! We topped off the evening with a movie and eating all the fresh baked goods in the house. We were planning on having a camp fire, but the wind picked up just enough that it might not be safe. It was great to talk to everyone on the phone...we wish you all a very merry Christmas!

Winter Solstice

After a long day at work, we headed to the movies to see "4 Christmases" starring Vince Vaughan. When we came out of the movie theatre, the snow was coming in heavy and the winds were strong, making it white out conditions to drive home. Throughout the night we were woken up by the howling gusts that put so much pressure on the house, we could hear the wind whistling through the windows. The power flicked on and off and with us constantly waking up, this years Winter Solstice really was the longest night. The weather network says that the storm is supposed to continue (although there is a blue sky out there) and gusts could get up to 120 KM/H (that's hurricane force).

It's been a very busy weekend for me. I have spent about 25 hours at the Running Room, while my beloved new husband has been working around the house. I came home to find the house all festive and in the Christmas mode. Shift was there to help out!

Today I completed the first half of the course. To celebrate, we had a midterm! I was quite pleased with the results. It was typical, those who came to class, participated & study did exceptionally well; My contract has been renewed for an additional six weeks (including a 2-week hiatus for Christmas). I AM LOVING IT!

As part of John's Birthday, Renee, Geoff, Jillian, Craig and I got the gang tickets for the CBC taping of "This Hour Has 22 Minutes." Unfortunately, John was feeling so under the weather, he wasn't able to come out and join in the fun. However, Geoff took one for the team, sat with an obstructed view behind the cameraman, and then got to be pulled out and put on television as the cast said good night (Did he pay extra to get Shaun Majumder's butt in his face?). It was a fun time, and the episode aired on Tuesday night. We topped the night off by piling all 5 of us into the Echo and heading to the Henry House for a late night dinner. WE MISSED YOU JOHN!

John got many wonderful gifts from family and friends...thank you so much! Dinner at Freeman's downtown was fun; Amy and friend, Renee, Geoff, Jillian, and Allison were all out to wish him all the best as he turned 32. He spent most of the day at the Surfboard Building class as the Saturday session was cancelled. He started to feel a little under the weather, a nasty cold is coming on. We were a little homesick as we miss celebrating these special occasions with family...Fortunately we have Shift the cat who always wants to be involved!

Super, Crazy, Busy Week!

Wow, what a week! I know most of you might think that we have fallen off the earth...but we've just had a super, crazy, busy week. I started teaching at CompuCollege and worked a few shifts at the Running Room (it was midnight madness this week). John worked a full work week and then every night has been helping his friend Pat with Nova Scotia Sea Schools Build a Surfboard Program. Both of us were supposed to be on the go again today, but the entire city has shut down due to a major snow fall that we got last night. It started about midnight and just kept coming...we were excited to see first snow a few days ago, but this is nuts! At least we are getting some much neglected chores done around the house.

Wow ~ I just finished my first morning teaching Introduction to Psychology for CompuCollege in Dartmouth. It was fantastic! I am so excited and really enjoyed it! We have 17 students of all ages and they seem to be a very good bunch. It's awesome! I am looking forward to tomorrow...

Fall Sailing

This may have been one of the last warm sailing days of the season out here. The water is still warm enough that gloves and a hood are not necessary. One of my sailing partners Dick shot this on Tuesday. Remembrance Day is a holiday out here and I couldn't think of a better way to spend the day.

The swell was really tight and small, which made for some choppy sailing. The wind was just right though.

This was a busy weekend!

John finished up the Shed, officially turning it from a "shed" to the "shop." Tours are $5 or donation of a new power tool...Photos of the finished project have not been posted as it is top secret (actually, its too cold for me to go out and take some photos, so we'll have to wait and add to the post later).

I got a good head start on Christmas Shopping (scary, I know). I also did a little shopping for myself as I needed some new clothes for my new job (more to come on that, later). I then worked the entire weekend at the store, made it to a Pampered Chef party, waited 26 minutes for a "snack wrap" at Wendy's, had a good run in with (who single handedly supplied all the mini lights for the wedding) and a took trip to the YMCA to swim lengths with my husband (now that's an exciting word for me to type!).

For those that are calling and leaving messages, my apologies, we've just been so busy, but you know us! Other news?

For those of you who remember, last year for Halloween, John and I gave out 200 individual pieces of candy to trick or treaters. We had to shut the door and hide when we ran out of candy as kids were still coming to the door looking for treats.

This year, we thought we'd prepare ourselves. We got a lot of little candy, decorated the house (used the many pumpkins left over from the wedding), and played Uno in the living room while we waited...and waited...I think we had maybe 5 trick or treaters in total?

Run For The Cure

Hello! This past weekend I was helping out at the Run For the Cure. One of the great things about being me, is that I am beginning to meet so many new friends. My good friend Karen, though, was silly enough to leave her camera with me while she ran...anyways, here are some of the shenanigans I got up to with her camera...

The only person who actually did not get annoyed with me that day...she was solid as a rock, didn't run away, didn't think I was crazy, just stood there strong and proud as our photo was taken. So this was the emcee and a really famous Haligonian...
Barry was a pretty good sport in following me around with the camera, however he refused to follow me in and had the nerve to not let me take the camera with me...

All joking aside, the Halifax site had over 6500 participants and raised $1,035,963...from the CBCF website "Still thriving and in its 17th year, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure raised $28.5 million today. The largest, single-day, volunteer-led, national event in support of breast cancer, this year’s Run attracted more than 170,000 Canadians in 55 communities across the country."

Wicked Weather

The wicked windy weather this weekend was brought to us by HURRICANE KYLE. The 60 knot winds brought down most of the leaves from the big tree in the front yard, and it looks like it smashed around our wind chimes creating a new shape for them. Now we sit and await to see what TROPICAL STORM LAURA is going to do...

The 14-day weather trend looks like Thanksgiving weekend is going to be a real mixture; Friday warm and cloudy; Saturday sunny and cold; Sunday cold and rain. Bring lots of clothes!

We had a quiet weekend around the house. I worked all day Saturday while John did chores around the house and snuck out for a windsurf. Then on Sunday he headed out to surf while Renee and I went on a shopping mission - we were not successful in getting what we set out to get, but we are the proud new co-owners of Sex & The City: The Movie.

Tomatoes Anyone?

Linds and I have had a great harvest this year with lots of tomatoes and green beans. We have been scouring for recipes that will help us make use of our harvest so we can get the most out of it. As you can see from the image below we have had a few brutes come out of the garden.

The fireplace has arrived. Rachel, Phil, Mom and Dale thank you for this. It looks great in the living room. You'll all see it soon at the wedding in a few weeks.

John and I headed down to the East Coast Outfitters for an afternoon of paddling in support of Shannon's quest to raise money for the Diabetes Association. It was the most perfect of days. Not too hot, very sunny, and just enough wind to create some waves to play in.

What a wonderful evening; Renee hosted a bridal shower for me at Tomavino's {our friend Jocelyn's restaurant in downtown Halifax}. She kept the details a secret, and had me show up for a bridal shower. All the girls were there. There was some wine, fantastic food, and a trip down memory lane which had me in stitches. Working out in the Bedford store, I don't see many of these girls anymore. So it was so good to see everyone. Thanks for all those who made it out and to Renee for doing such a great job.

Hurricane Hanna was the eighth tropical cyclone and fourth hurricane of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season. There was a lot of hype of her arrival, however, we only received heavy rains and high wind gusts. Everyone braced for a big tropical storm, but the storm missed Halifax. The NS International Air Show was shortened, but not cancelled as it was originally thought to be. Saint John, NB was hit pretty hard with a total rain fall of 140 mm. Our phone at the house has been knocked out, but that is not storm related. However, the weekend before, when we were camping in Cape Breton, there was a major rain storm that brought hale down in Halifax, overflowed the river in New Glasgow, and washed out bridges in Inverness County.

NS Air Show

This weekend, Shearwater [which is the Air Base closest to us] will be hosting the Nova Scotia International Air Show. John and I won't be able to attend, however, we did get to enjoy a sneak peak as ALL the planes flew over us as they prepared to land. I am not sure what this did for John's concentration at work, but it sure was neat.

John was a course marshall and I ran in the Bedford 5K for the Atlantic Make A Wish Foundation. Coming across the finishline in 32:02 [a full three minutes faster than hoped], I was really happy and feeling healthy. It's been a long summer with my gut interfering with a lot of my training runs. But I feel as though I am ready to continue to train the for PEI Half Marathon in October.

Ben's Stag Weekend

In celebration of Ben's upcoming nuptials... Kristian, Simon, Jeff, and Ben came to NS for the weekend. Posted are some of the highlights from the weekend!

Day One

The guys flight was delayed by 4 hours due to problems with their plane. The first night was a late one but didn't deter us from renting some boards and getting out on one of the best days this summer. I toke the crew to one of my favorite surf spots and we had an epic day.

Day Two

Rainy weather and blustery winds kept us from the ocean but not the city. We visited the Keith's brewery for a tour, the Henry house for a few pints, Tomasino's for pizza and finally Bearley's for one of the best bands we have every seen.

Day Three

More surf and sun at Martinique Beach for the crew.

Day Four

Kristian's plane is out bright and early and the rest of us hit the water once more before everyone heads home.

All in all it was a perfect weekend. The weather and swell cooperated with us all the way through and everyone had a great time. Best of all no casualties. Happy stag Ben, see in a month at the wedding.

The Pants

Renee got home from a business trip in New Glasgow yesterday evening, and I headed over with the popcorn machine and she provided the movie. We watched the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I have only seen it once, but know the movie pretty well. I wanted to fast forward through the Blake Lively scenes and some of the America Ferriera scenes, but it was still a good girl movie and it prepared us for the sequel.
Tonight, the girls (Renee, Jillian, and Elky) and I went to see the sequel to last nights movie, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. It was way better than the first movie, the characters were aged appropriately, and the story line was a little more indepth. Oh, and I must say that a trip to Greece is definitely in mine and Renee's future. Unfortunately, just not the near future....

LJ GRADUATES!

Today, with an entourage supplied by Sport Nova Scotia, Lindsey attended her graduation from Dalhousie University. While walking to the venue, Lindsey ran into Renee, Craig, and Kevin who were out wandering the streets of Halifax aimlessly when I am sure they should have been working hard in their office... Together, they were all there as she walked into the main office of the Continuing Education School and picked up her piece of parchment paper from the secretary. It was a very informal affair, but the gang cheered on...then the boys realized it was not her GED nor a certificate in private investigation, but her post-grad certificate in Adult Education.

Cousins Karen, Dave & the Girls Visit!

Cousins Karen, David, Meaghan and Kaitlyn were on an East Coast Adventure when their travels brought them to Halifax. It was so fantastic to see them. I met up with them at the harbourfront and then we split up. The girls and I headed to Freak Lunchbox and caught a movie, while David and Karen went on the Alexander Kieths Brewery tour. Which they say is a MUST SEE. Although they wanted to go on the Harbour Hopper, I recommended we take a cheaper tour of the harbour, we all went on the ferry over to Dartmouth and back. It was a simple trip, but we were able to see everything. John met up with us for dinner at the Argyle. We had such a great time. And remember Kaitlyn and Meaghan, you are more then welcome to come out and visit anytime! They are heading off Tuesday morning for Lunenburg before they head back on the road through the States back to Barrie.

Mum & Dad Spend the Weekend!

Mum and Dad arrived late Friday evening as both John and I were working. It is so nice to have them visit our home!
Saturday we headed to Hall's Harbour and spent the day touring the Valley.

On Sunday we did chores around the house (or at least John and dad did) while mum and I had a relaxing morning and then headed to the mall (surprize! surprize!). We had dinner out at Boston Pizza. It will be sad to see them go Monday morning, but I can see that they are tired and miss the grandkids. It was especially hard because this weekend was Kate's 2nd birthday and my parents weren't there to help celebrate. But we did send home a small gift for Kate with Mum and Dad. Happy Birthday Kate!

Lunenburg Lunch

John was out surfing for the morning, and it was such a nice day, I didn't want to be stuck at home...So, I drove down to Lunenburg to have lunch with Mum and Dad at their favourite restaurant overlooking the harbour. We had a great seat on the patio watching all of the tourists (and there were lots). I had a nice drive back to the city along the Lighthouse Route which brought me along some beautiful beaches in Hubbards, Ingramport, and St Margaret's Bay.

Mum and Dad arrived with a van full of goodies on Tuesday night. Then Adam had a stop over in Halifax all day Wednesday. Since we everyone was here...we hung out together had a great day (we missed you Sue and kids!). Sobey's cooked mum and Adam a lobster and we had a big barbecue on the back deck.
Aside from my fish allergy, we don't think we'll be serving any fish at the house as it was a sad experience... (mum even had tears)
There was also a bit of a tropical storm, which brought in some waves for John and much needed rain for our plants. Our tomato plants are starting to show flowers and are very promising for a good harvest this year. Our snow peas didn't grow nearly as tall as they did last year, and under further investigation, John plucked a few green beans from the plant...

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said the storm system was moving east-northeast at 31 mph at 5 a.m. with sustained winds of 45 mph and higher gusts. The final report on the storm said no change in strength was expected in the next 24 hours and the easterly track would continue for some time. Tropical storm force winds extended up to 85 miles form the storm center, the hurricane center said. Cristobal worked its way up the U.S. eastern seaboard beginning Friday but never made landfall. It created high surf and caused rain before turning toward Nova Scotia. The Chronicle-Herald newspaper in Halifax reported more than a month's worth of rain fell in some parts of the province Tuesday. Environment Canada meteorologist Bob Robichaud told the newspaper Baccaro Point received 6.5 inches of rain, while the monthly average there is 4 inches.

The weekend was spent doing odd jobs around the house getting caught up with some much needed chores (hanging ceiling fans, making more storage for surf boards, cutting some grass, and getting that clothes line up!). We used some of the gift certificates from Aunt Angela to purchase a much needed ladder - we now have light in our stairwell!

Sunday evening we had a great little barbecue in our friend Geoff's backyard. Jill and I were thankful for a great meal after a quiet afternoon in the store. The boys headed out to see the X-files movie, imagine that, us girls didn't really want to see it!
I am getting a few hours at the Running Room both on Spring Garden in Halifax and at the Sunnyside Mall in Bedford. I am enjoying my half marathon clinic which is filled with experienced runners (they are all ALOT faster than me!).

Wedding Dress Horror

There is a nasty rumour going around Spring Garden that the store I ordered and purchased my dress from is closing its doors. I was in today to check on the status of my dress, and was told that things are business as usual and I should expect my dress September 1st. This is all based on an article covering the nasty split up of the owners and the babbling of unsatisfied customers... anyway, at this point and time, there doesn't seem to be a problem with my dress... Fortunately, the wedding is far enough away and I do have a back up plan!

Water Fun

I took this video this past Sunday just down the shore from our new place. It was a 10 minute hike out to the point from where Amy (my surf buddy) and I parked the van. This is a rather secluded location but well worth the effort to get out to. The waves this day were perfect little longboard waves and the water was crystal clear, the video looks a little murkier that it actually was. Not another soul out, just perfect.

Dragon Boat Festival

What a busy weekend! It was the Annual Manulife Dragon Boat Festival in support of NS Amateur Sport Fund (where Renee works). The Sport Fund was created to help increase participation in sport by supporting amateur athletes, coaches, officials, and community-based programs throughout Nova Scotia. This year, rumour has it, that the event raised close to $150,000.

"By grade 7, only 44% of females and 62 % of males accumulate the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity each day. These numbers diminish further by grade 11, with only 7 % of females and 13 % of males achieving this standard.” Notes Rob McMahon, Chair of the Nova Scotia Amateur Sport Fund.

Anyway, I was out to help Renee, Kevin and Craig on Friday (IT WAS HOT!) and then on Saturday I was part of the Sport NS team (Renee's work) or the SNS Minnow. There was high expectations for the team. I felt there was alot of pressure as we were "NOT" to win. Apparently last year the entire team was made of National level paddlers, kyakers, and rowers and beat even the professional Dragon Boat teams. But due to Olympic trials, these athletes were not available and therefore Renee recruited a bunch of runners. We probably would have done better had we been able to use our legs, but due to our lack of upper body muscle...we didn't even beat the kids from Quizinos. However, unlike some teams, we didn't flip the boat, so that was a good thing!

Mom & Dale's Wedding Weekend

For the July 4th Long Weekend, we were in Oakville to celebrate Mom & Dale's wedding. It was a fun weekend filled with dancing, little white doves (that was a real treat Dale - thank you!), sailing, eating great food, and getting to know our extended family (Allison, Randy, Kailey, Corey, Dawne, Cheddy, River, and Baby Beck). It was a great weekend.

One Life Surf Summer Kick Off Party

John, Renee and I were hanging with Neve Campbell of Party of Five fame (well, not really...but she was there) at the One Life Surf Summer Kick Off Party at The Marquee last night. It was a whole lot of fun! There was a fashion show, live music, lots of prize give-a-ways, and Amy was a featured performer there (you looked fantastic Amy!).

One Life is Eastern Canada's first women's surf school. Inspired by the ocean, it has been spearheaded by a collective of women who love surfing. One Life Surf School seeks to promote female participation in surfing offering fun, friendly and affordable surf instruction that combines safety, surfing etiquette, and respect for the environment, along with a practical surf lesson. Sunset Kayaking

Today, Renee and I joined Shannon on a Sunset Kayak. It was a fundraiser for Shannon's quest to run with Team Diabetes in Prague. We headed down to Lower Prospect and met up with the group at East Coast Outfitters. The weather was warm, the water was flat, and the company was fun! Renee was new to the kayaking thing, I was new to the ocean critters thing! It was a lot of fun, and we look forward to paddling again!

Dad's Day Run for Prostate Cancer

In honour of Dad's day, I participated in a 5K fundraising run at Dalhousie University. I was fortunate to meet up with my friend Ryan and run with him as he celebrated his first fathers day.
With your generous donations, I was able to surpass my goal of raising $250. This morning when I handed in my donations, they totaled $750! Thank you so much!

Dad & Holly Visit

Dad and Holly came out to visit us for the weekend (Friday to Tuesday). Mother Nature was fabulous and provided hot, sunny, summer weather for their stay. It was a weekend of hard work out in the yard.

Dad and I hooked up the plumbing for a new laundry sink and the outdoor shower.

Holly treated Lindsey to some new plants for around the yard.
Then she and Dad gave good direction on cleaning up the gardens.
I started to take down the broken fence in the back yard.

Thank you to both of them for a wonderful weekend. It wasn’t all work, we did have some time to play. We did get out to have some good meals, got caught without an umbrella in a down pour, and made a quick trip to Lunenburg for Lobster with a senic drive through Mahone Bay (Famous for the Three Churches) and Chester.

What a fantastic day!
This afternoon a few of our good friends came by for a bit of a housewarming open house! The weather even cooperated with us - it warmed up when the sun came out, so we were able to enjoy our new deck! It was a very relaxing afternoon and it was a chance to welcome our friends into our new home.
Thank you to everyone who came, the gifts were unnecessary but much appreciated. Our garden is going to look beautiful!

Let the Wedding Plans Begin!

Now that we have moved, we've been able to focus a little more on our upcoming wedding!

We will be having a small wedding with immediate family in our backyard on Thanksgiving weekend. Details are still being worked out, however the guest list has been narrowed down to 20 (now that was a hard thing to do!). And we are starting to book things and get ourselves organized.

As per family and friends requests, we have registered. Both registries are available online or in the respective stores.

Sears Wedding Gift Registry #200813042745; items are available both online and in the store. However, we have found that many of the items can be found at lower prices when looking through the website or shopping in the store. We are not sure why the prices on the registry are different. The closest store for us to pick up at is the Sears located in Penhorn Mall at 535 Portland St in Dartmouth.

Cucina Moderna Registry "Jones / Furness"; an independently owned specialty kitchen store located in Halifax, it is a favourite store to poke around in. All items listed on the registry can be purchased over the phone with a major credit card. The items will be wrapped and dropped off at the new house just before the wedding.

We are very fortunate with our new home. Much of it has been painted and upgraded to our liking. We've been making a few modifications to make it feel more like ours.

John is adding an area to shower off surf gear and wetsuits.

We added a few of our plants and a few magnets to the fridge and volia, its ours!

John headed over to the new house first thing in the morning (although he was very eager to take the mattress over last night and sleep in the new place). And I waited for the movers to show up. After watching them, I realized we have a lot of stuff. Useless stuff, but none-the-less stuff!

The move went well, the only tricky part was me getting the cats from the old house to the new house. Joe ended up walking right into the carry case and was easily loaded into the car. Shift got to ride freely in shotgun. However, chose to sit on top of the carry case that Joe was in. They meowed the entire way.

Schools Out!

I know that not much has been said about school, But one thing that I know everyone will be happy to hear is that I have completed all the requirements for the course. We handed in our final projects and facilitated our final sessions today. The next step? We wait. Graduation will be in August, so I guess school is out for the summer!

As many of you know, John and I are not big fans of Wal-Mart. This week, we watched the movie Walmart: The High Cost of Low Prices. Some ask us why, and well if you watch this film you might just understand how we feel about the gigantic superstore that is closing small businesses and influencing local economies. We hope that maybe, you too, will see the problem with shopping and supporting Wal-Mart.

The Halifax Comedy Fest was filmed at Dalhousie - AND WE WERE THERE! Keep your eye out for us on the CBC! John and I had seats in the fourth row, beside two empty seats! It should be pretty easy to see us on television. Alonzo Bodden was the feature performer and had us in stitches! Winner of Season 3 of Last Comic Standing, he (in his own words) just rambled on for an extra 20 minutes, but we didn't mind!

We had some amazing Spring weather here in NS this past weekend. Luckily there was a decent swell that came though as well. The wind was high so few spots were working, however my surf buddy Amy and I found a nice left under the Lawrencetown Teahouse's Bluff. Well protected from the winds. Mum & Dad Visit

Thursday: Mum and Dad arrived just in time for dinner and the movie "Prairie Home Companion."

Friday: Mum, Dad and Lindsey headed out to do some errands, including a safety check for the van, picking up a new MacBook, booked flowers for the wedding, had lunch at Swiss Chalet, drove by the new house, and switched the van over into Lindsey's name. We had a quiet barbecue dinner and watched "Death At A Funeral."

Saturday: It was an early morning visit to the market! We drove up the coast to see all the spots that John surfs. It was another drive by the new house before hitting up MEC for dad's birthday gift. We had a quiet afternoon around the house before heading out to the Argyle for dinner. We met up with some friends for Jills birthday (who was absent because she was writing an exam). We made it home to watch "Sweeny Todd" a horror musical?

Sunday: A great day to sleep in. We woke to a big breakfast and got the house organized. Mum and Dad had to bored the plane at 3pm. We drove home via Dartmouth to see just how close the new house is to the Airport (and its close!).

We had a great weekend and can't believe how fast it went by. Thank you to mum & dad for bringing the van down.

No More DND for Lindsey

Today was my last day with DND. The original contract was up March 25, but I stayed on for a couple of extra weeks. It was a good time to end it, as we have a lot on the go for the next few months and picking up odd shifts at the Running Room will be much more beneficial and meet our needs.

For lunch the ladies in the office and I went to Darrell's on Fenwick (known for their peanut butter burger and old fashioned milkshakes). We enjoyed our chocolate milk shakes and then they went back to the office and I went grocery shopping. It was really nice.

Hockey Night in Halifax

As guests of CTV and representing Sport Nova Scotia, Last night Renee and I attended the hockey game. We enjoyed unlimited beer, popcorn, pizza, and an excellent view of the game from the CTV Skybox.

Fashion Show

This weekend, Renee, Christine, and Lindsey were in a fashion show for DND. "Strut Your Stuff" ended up being a weekend long event that gave us girls a makeover and allowed us to take a stroll down a catwalk in front of 200+ military women/wives. It's hard to believe that none of the girls were asked to hang with Sarah Jessica Parker or attend fashion week in Paris. Our "before" and "after" shots taken behind the scenes.

Easter Weekend

Lindsey and I had a rather quiet Easter LONG Weekend.

Saturday: Amy and I headed out to explore the Southern Shore for some surf. We ended up in the water down at a small resort called White Point. The surf was poor at best but the day was a great opportunity to check out some areas that may turn out to be perfect on days with better swell. We did find some white tailed deer and had an adventurous river crossing on a cable ferry.

Monday afternoon we had a group of friends over for Easter dinner. Sorry no photo, we were too busy eating.

Yesterday was Lindsey's 29th birthday. We booked the evening at Dartmouth's Pirates Cove. What a blast 10+ adults running around like a bunch of kids riding water slides and playing on the tarzan rope. Good times were had by all. Afterwards we headed over to Keltic Corner for a pint and some food.
